| Comment | Depends. The Carr report on RCN (a nursing union) shared that ‘abrasive male voices’ were dominating discussions and created a culture where women were fearful of speaking up. I’m involved in a union and I definitely see these kind of people shouting down folk at meetings.
If the business owner was intimidated by a male union rep, then her being female is relevant. Not sure that’s what she is alluding to though, hear the ‘depends’. |
