Swing Hammer Swing, windswept and Interesting, red Dust Road, retired Teenagers, the Cutting Room, the Dark Remains, the amateurs (maybe more Ayrshire not Glasgow, but brilliant)

Lanark is incredible but not "heartwarming", Shuggie Bain seemed very cruel to its female characters, Buddha Da sometimes gets mentioned in this context but I thought it wasnt great, James Kelman novels are set in Glasgow but imo are pretty hard going.
