Define nice. It's safe, despite having slightly rougher areas surrounding it. It's a firmly working class, lower middle class area.


There's not a huge amount to do there, so your travelling into the city if you want to go to the cinema, pubs or cultural things. Buses (and that is the only form of public transport that serves Riddrie) are ok, but you will feel a little bit more disconnected by not being on the rail network. If you have a car though, that makes all the difference.

It is right next to barlinnie prison, so if you get arrested your wife will be able to visit you easily. On the other hand you might not want to live next to a prison.
