| Comment | Yeh while I am staunchly pro bike, and pro ebike at that, there is definitely a line between ebike and motorbike being crossed. Someone passed me yesterday on the canal that must have been going 20-30mph.
The rest of Sauchiehall + Buchanan needs a dedicated bike lane, pedestrians are going to walk into it some of the time, as they do on the current sauchiehall one but its still a large improvement over the free for all (+ they can use appropriate paving to avoid bikes wiping out on the slippy flagstones). I mentioned to Patrick Harvie on the internet that it feels like with a some well placed junctions and some new paving the currently unused back alleys thoughout the entire city centre could turn into a connected active travel network thats isolated from road traffic. |
