I've ventured to the gartcraig pub, but if you're looking for night life you'll be heading into town. Or the fort and/or forge for cinema and shops.
We get the train, but I'm closer to Carntyne station than the rest so it's fine to walk it.
Leader St you're closer to Alexandra Parade station.
Don't get the bus often enough to comment sorry.
You've got Hogganfield Loch and Alexandra Park both about 20 minutes walk away, great for dog walking!
Also, the vogue chippy is better than Abby's. Avoid Shergills. Spice Route is good for kebabs. Rowans for rolls!!
