Anyone working with asylum seekers know that food delivery is a really easy way to make regular money to either supplement their Home office support or to send home. Deliveroo and Just Eat know they have a huge problem, and have done "raids" in other cities, but they really they are paying lip service and don't do anything to resolve it.
The problem is, because asylum seekers don't have right to work, often the very limited training is given to a real contracted "employee". But then multiple people without right to work will actually use the "account" to do the deliveries and get their cut. It means any irresponsible riders never really gets dealt with. |
