You can get a small car for under £200 a month with 3 years servicing included, they can do 70mpg motorway so roughly £200 a month in fuel if you commute 5 days a week. It takes you to your front door and you have the convenience of using it on your days off.

Even adding in insurance and tax you’ll not be much more than the monthly cost of that train ticket. Cleaning is nothing 😂. £2 jet wash, £1 hoover.

All in all, tram cost included you’d be £500 a month to commute by car and have all the conveniences of a car.

Or £425 to sit next to strangers on a train. One of the benefits of mass transport is supposed to be that it’s significantly cheaper since the costs are shared amongst hundreds of other people.
