| Comment | I chose Santander when I first moved here. It was a mistake. They make you use two cards and you're constantly transferring money from one to the other (one is for bills, one for paying in store). Never got to figure out how to set up PayPal, and they don't give you contactless because you've not lived here for 3 years yet.
I recently switched to Monzo. Should've done that earlier. I've now got an easy to use app, CONTACTLESS (I've lived without it for 2 years so you have no idea how happy that made me), Apple Pay. Plus if you use Transferwise to transfer money from your home bank account to UK one you get one of the best rates - apparently I was losing around £20 each month by using Santander. So yeah, listen to everyone else. Use Monzo. Get a link off of someone so you get a free fiver as well. And setting up an account with them is so easy. |
