Shocking what was done to our city. I don't remember the work being carried out but the planners got it well wrong. The M8 has proved to act like a barrier between areas of the city and has led to deprivation and isolation for some residents.

The only consolation is that other city developers have looked at Glasgow and learned from the mistakes made.

Near to Glasgow the town of Cumbernauld has a similar road carved right through the middle of the town centre buildings. It was constructed like this and has left one side of the town centre desolate and run down whilst the other side thrives.

The good news is that the whole centre area is being demolished and rebuilt. Guess what the road through the centre of it is going and to be routed elsewhere. I wish that could be done in Glasgow.
