All the above are maybe a bit pricier than H&M and Zara, but I’ve given up on spending money on shote quality clothes.

I’m not saying Primark, H&M are all bad quality (same as you, I’ve got some Primark shorts that have been going for years), but expensive doesn’t always mean good quality. Places like Massimo Dutti aren’t cheap, but you could spit through their t shirts, and you wash them once and they don’t fit any more. I had to return a pair of trousers to Zara last month. Bought them in two colours. Tried one pair on on the shop and they were great. Picked up the exact same product, size, etc in another colour and they were completely different.

Uniqlo do some good stuff - like H&M pricing but bit better quality. Their jeans are about £40 and very good. They don’t have a store up here, but online orders are very quick and returns are easy. They have quite a big shop in Manchester if you’re ever down that way - think it’s the furthest north.

M&S, Next and John Lewis all have decent quality guys gear. John Lewis just launched a range called Everyday, and some of it is surprisingly well priced. It did take me a wee while to realise I had reached ‘that age’, and I now shop in the same places as my Dad.
