When Harrogate hosted just the road races in 2019, which is a tiny fraction of the number of events and races being hosted here, E&Y reported those visiting spent £22.5m over the course of the event. Given the scale of the events happening this year, the financial boost will be significantly higher than Harrogate and well in excess of the £13m outlay. Obviously the council doesn't receive that money back but the general boost to the economy will be a huge positive |
