| Comment | If they had a fan zone and an open top bus parade for tens of thousands of football fans they would earn far more money. But unfortunately our authorities are largely ashamed of the fact that football is by some distance not only the biggest sport in the country, but also one of the biggest things in our culture. Whether people like it or not. That's not to say that they shouldn't have something like the cycling here but it's the usual elitist behaviour from the council and/or Scot Gov. Not too dissimilar to Cop26 in some ways.
(Don't disagree football fans have done a lot of damage to the city over the years but if you treat people like they're scum then behaving like scum bags becomes more acceptable within those groups for lots of people. Some are scumbags no matter what happens, the same as any large gathering) |
