Comment	If it says "amethyst pendant" then it is an amethyst. If it says something like "amethyst coloured pendant" then it will not be real and is possibly moulded and colour perspex or similar. You could just ask, the museum won't be engaging in fraud. Tourist tat shop? Maybe.
