| Comment | It does look grim. But it’s what many people live on for months at a time for work. If it was that bad, these people wouldn’t do it. And it’s arguable better than the conditions that they have flees their own country.
I think part of the problem is the expectation that because someone has arrived in a better country they should automatically have the lifestyle and conditions of those who already live there. That simply isn’t practical, or fair on those born and bred like the homeless etc. There needs to be some sort of ‘buffer zone’ until things are processed properly.
I’m not say this barge accommodation is the solution btw. |
