But on the issue of lifeboats, they aren’t needed. You’d have to expect there would be drills to be compliant with a vessel/barge. And these will include where to go and how to get there. It’s not difficult. They can empty an 800 odd seater A380 in 90s (don’t quote me on that!) so getting people safely on quayside will be fine.
Every vessel I’ve been on has automatically closing fire doors - held open by electro magnets that disarm when alarm goes. I’d expect this to be the same on the barge where maritime rules dictate. |
