Probably better to stay safe and get the train. There is a station at Maryhill but other options are Summerston or Gilsochill depending on where you live.

The service is not always that regular, usually every 30 minutes in the daytime but you can always go the wrong way to Anniesland then change to a faster and more frequent electric train if need be.

There is hardly any traffic in the city at the moment so you could also be brave and hire a bike from outside the Tesco Extra and drop it off at any of the city centre bike stations. Maryhill has great access to the city by bike now. It's pretty much downhill and the best route is either down Garcube Road cycle way or along the canal (flat route) to Spiers Wharf. The final phase of resurfacing is complete so much of this path is smooth low friction tarmac now. Both routes will take you to Cambridge Street traffic free and onto the precinct at Sauchiehall street where cycling is permitted.
