I grew up literally a few streets away from here OP!
Its a great area and tbh im not surprised it went to closing - houses round there tend to sell very quicklh and for a decent price above offers over.
Great train service to Glasgow and Edinburgh but also a really regular bus service 5 mins walk away.
Edited to say that provided you have double glazing the train noise shouldnt be an issue. You're close to the station but not right next to it.
