In addition to Benmore botanic garden, there's also Ardkindlas Woodland Garden which is lovely to walk through.

It's a little bit out of the way but if you go past Inveraray on the way to Lochgilphead about a mile down is Auchindrain Farm Museum which is really good, it's an outdoor museum exploring the history of farmining in the area, dog friendly too.

If you like Whisky then the public bar at the George in Inveraray has a really eclectic selection of malts which you rarely see anywhere else so it's worth dropping in.

Fyne Ales has a good tap room which is worth a trip and there's some good walking routes round that area.

On the way back towards Loch Lomond there is a wee sign for the "honeymoon bridge" which, although the bridge isn't up to much, going up the hill on the forestry path and you get really great views of Loch Lomond.

There's so much to do in that part of the world, just enjoy exploring about and dropping off in places.

Just one note to keep in mind with the warm weather, there are a fair few ticks about at the moment so take relevant precautions when walking off the beaten track. We were on a walk in Lochgoilhead back in June and the dog and I both picked up a couple and that was keeping to the paths so it's worth getting some repellant, tick removers, and have a wee check over yourselves when you get off the trails.
