GFT is a wonderful theatre, but it has a godawful soundsystem. When I saw Psycho there, for example, I was really excited for Bernard Hermann's score (which is like a character in itself), but it sounded so flat and lifeless. So not surprised you couldn't quite hear the dialogue properly.
