I was born in Glasgow, never strayed too far (couple of shires away, tops)
Travelled the world, honestly love most places for what they are - warts and all. Except Edinburgh.
Still work in town. Still get an absolute buzz hopping off the train into the unapologetic grit of the city centre.
Glasgow is Glasgow. It doesn't need to be pretentious or play to daft stereotypes. Any tourist with the slightest of smarts knows what to expect.
44 years on this earth living, working and playing in Glasgow and Not Once have I personally had a bad experience.
Aye, there's junkies. They're everywhere believe it or not. Not Glasgow's fault. It can be manky, but look past that - Paris does, Athens too....
The music, arts, restaurants, PEOPLE, architecture, history.... no city in the country comes close.
I love my city and I'd never say anything to put a tourist off. |
