Last week I bought a ticket on the ScotRail app for Queen Street to Charing cross, so we are talking about a £1.90 fare.

The app annoyingly gave me a reference to pickup a ticket instead of a scannable ticket when I had 1 minutes to catch the train with 2 small children, I told the lady at the gate and she helpfully let me through.

I got to Charing cross and explain the same to the guy to get out, he tells me I am lying and I couldn't have possibly got on at Queen Street without a valid ticket, I explained someone let me through and he told me they didn't, he then made me wait as he phoned queen Street, long enough for my children to start getting frustrated but not long enough to interview every attendant yet still came back to say he asked everyone and I was trying to cheat a fair.

Eventually letting me through the barrier he said I needed to buy a ticket from Edinburgh and was getting generally quite rude and aggressive. I showed him the transaction where I paid for dinner outside the train station 8 minutes before getting the train but he refused to accept it.

My kids were there and fairly upset by this point so I couldn't tell him what I really felt but obviously left without paying. First time I have made a formal complaint, still seen the prick working there today though and it makes me want to avoid the train since seeing him pisses me off
