There's a fair amount of general residential supply being built or in the planning in and around the city centre.

We're living through what might fairly be viewed as a boom time for resi builds (of all types) in the centre, and in nearby neighbourhoods in a historical context. Thousands and thousands of units of resi getting built. A good mix too, which is what you need.

On the student housing point: students need somewhere to live. Glasgow is very much a university city. 3 major unis, half a dozen colleges. Tens of thousands of student population.

Student accomodation means they're not scrambling and competing with locals for finite local housing stock.
