The area around Charing Cross and that end of Sauchiehall street is for sure blighted. Sauchiehall has improved recently but there was a time that there were 40 empty business spaces between Buchanan street and Charing Cross. It was certainly looking pretty down and out for a major high street in Scotland's largest city.
This is not a council funded project. I am not sure what you want to happen here and how this is relevant to the redevelopment of places like Easterhouse. A student accommodation developer is never in a million years going to build a £250 Million student housing development in Easterhouse. |
