Enough of them seem to be swayed by local sentiment against student builds.
It's so unfortunate. Glasgow need a real mix of housing. Some locations, like this (next to the biggest nightlife zone, equidistant between the three uni campuses, in a relatively unappealing location next to the motorway) is ideal for more student housing.
Should the area exclusively feature student housing? No. But then there already is a housing mix, and there's currently a good mix in the pipeline.
More housing supply is good. More housing supply in a central location for young people (keenest to live in the centre) and adjacent to a transit hub, is excellent in terms of sustainability and supporting the areas local retail economy.
