| Comment | People change jobs all the time. This is entirely normal and you're not letting anyone down by leaving.
As for 'hurting your chances of getting employed elsewhere' employers generally don't give negative references as it can open them to legal liabilities. The worst case is that they give you a 'basic' reference which just confirms that you worked for them in a certain position between certain dates, which is really all that any new employer is looking for anyway.
Life is too short to waste on crap employers, they'll get on without you, you owe them nothing, and no job is worth your mental health. |
