| Comment | Literally not talking to my mum right now due to the way she’s allowing herself to be so warped by what she watches in the morning and afternoons on tv. I can normally allow older peers to have some ignorance and not fully understand the concept of something.
It seems like lately my mums behaviours towards things such as race/gender/ect is becoming more extreme, and she keeps using the “but my family did that and they werent racist/phobic” like no, they were, and that’s okay to admit.
As someone who’s trans/queer, seeing one of my parents quickly fall into that type rhetoric has been extremely frightening because i’ve already dealt with 10+ years of shitty transphobia from her and i feel like it’s just going to get worse. And this is a woman who has never used internet/ect, so i can’t even blame facebook, it’s what they show on TV too. |
