They are not getting money towards diesel. They are getting a tax break on fuel duty. (There are lots of tax relief schemes and tax breaks for companies across different industries and thousands of private companies being injected with government funding/taxpayers money. It doesn’t take much research to find that out.)
Reduced subsidies and the fact it is “mainly concession cards” on buses during the day is partly what has lead to massive service reductions over the years and higher costs for fare paying passengers. |
