I was exhausted working full time, bringing up a toddler. I was also depressed because all I did was work, compounding my exhaustion.
I dragged myself to swimming. I got more exhausted but my sleep got better. I started eating better and my energy rose. I started the gym, same cycle. Now I’m still exhausted but since my life is less grindy I can motivate myself more, I’m a far more pleasant father.
I had the same effect before I was a parent. Joining a rugby club more or less saved my life. My life got much richer.
I’ve found many times in my life like it feels like I don’t have the energy for anything more than work but I’m always proven wrong when those things motivate me to live, and feed back into my energy. |
