A few years ago my mum was in the Royal. In the same ward as her was a junkie woman handcuffed to a bed, with two polis sitting with her.
We got talking to the 2 guys and they said this is what they spend most of their time doing - sitting in hospitals with junkies or mentally ill people. Imagine having to spend a 12 or 16 hour shift doing that.
