| Comment | Honestly, I was probably a mouthy little shite up until I went to high school and got beat in a fight in my first few months. The idea that violence solves nothing is absolutely correct in theory, but in practise I’m a firm believer everyone needs a bit of a kicking in life. Not to inflict any pain, but the social embarrassment of being beat physically in a fight is how kids were kept in check.
It’s hard to make that point without sounding like a monster and I’m sure teachers can’t agree with it, but it’s not a coincidence that the uptick in rowdy behaviour correlates with a gentler society. The issue is that gentler society has progressed to that point but he bypassed a collection of parents that don’t buy into raising their kids to be respectable. |
