| Comment | Sorry to hear but will likely take quite a while, the CMS were trying to charge me child maintenance when I wasnt due any (because I had full shared care) and it took around 8 months from me refusing to pay to them sending a letter saying they were going to arrest wages, I dont actually think they ever got any arrested wages and a tribunal has now had to tell the CMS I was never actually due anything (something that was very obvious from the outset).
The payments are backdated from the point at which the other parent is contacted however, there is a chance my case went a lot slower because of the various appeals and tribunals etc so it might be that yours go faster, they are also pretty aggressive in their approach (even if they have no right to be claiming money) so it should come to you in the end. |
