Comment	As a side note, I have had to deal with various family agencies (cps, police, family court, social services etc) since having a not particularly smooth separation and the DWP are by a long long way the worst people I have ever dealt with. They as official policy take one side in any dispute over payments, the call handlers will regularly repeat completely wrong information and you can get the opposite advice in 2 calls. I had one person on the phone trying to explain to me that because I had my children 7 nights out of 14 and because 7 \* 26 = 182, and 182 \* 2 is less than 365 that I didnt really have my children half the time, I also had one accuse me of trying to take money away from my children. They chase people for payment that they arent due, threatening to arrest my wages or myself while telling me that if the judge was to tell them I was not due any money they would not take any action at all to get it back. My lawyer spoke to someone that was considered the expert in the country dealing with them and said this was standard operation for them, even the judge in the tribunal I had against them said various times that the DWP are very happy to chase people for payment and take things to tribunal without any case (they didnt even turn up). It is shitty when people don't pay for their children however this department financially encourages seperated parents to keep children away from one another, very literally they will pay you to keep your child from seeing the other, it needs razed to the ground and redone completely.
