Density in the city centre makes a lot of sense - more council tax from more residents, fewer boarded up shops bringing the place down, and hopefully it encourages more businesses that serve the new folk living there. I just hope any places being retrofitted into flats are made to include decent soundproofing - developers putting tissue thin walls up in retrofitted flats should not be the norm.
