The city was on a upwards trajectory. And I don't know what happened. Perhaps covid, or perhaps SNP in the GCC, or perhaps the big lawsuit. I go through the city centre a lot and it is just dirty, manky, closed shops, dodgy people, too many delivery guys, too many cars (although this has always been a problem).
Sauchiehall street also went downhill really fast. The different fires plus the refurbishment they did. So many closed shops, M/S went away, ... I remember 5 o 6 years ago the BBC (or similar) did a tv series about Sauchihall because it was buzzing with stuff. Now it is dead. |
