This isn't true some unis are better than others and some are just crap.


Which uni you go to can have a massive effect on your future, especially your early career.
A good uni can have more industry links and you will have got yourself a job before you even graduate.

Aim as high as you can go op, don't settle just because they will take you

This is partially true, talk to the individual uni about it before applying. It will depend on how popular a course is. You might be wasting your UCAS option, you might not be, only the uni can tell you.

For instance Glasgow uni law has significantly more applicants than they have spaces, so they don't even read your personal statement never mind an interview, if your grades are below the requirement they will immediately reject you.

This is absolute true, don't put your eggs all in one basket
