| Comment | True, but I don’t think the OP was asking about whether it was better to be in a couple or not. And if he or she was to find a partner, that wouldn’t reduce their tax burden unless they decided to find a job that paid half the salary.
The only point where it doesn’t pay to earn more is somewhere around £50-60k, and only if you have children because you lose child tax credits. |
