i find the rise in 4x4's in urban areas fascinating. for the longest time, these were considered work vehicles for people who lived on farms because they were absolutely horrible to drive in cities. then the rise of the range rover in the uk happened and every yuppie who lived outside town with a steep driveway thought they "needed" a 4x4. this normalized the use of them as vehicles you could use in cities. this has been horrible for many different reasons [not just bikes did a video that described the issue better than i could](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jN7mSXMruEo)
