Been hard to compare cost of living because prices were going up rapidly when I moved (and still are) but housing is definitely cheaper. Under strain but not as badly as Edinburgh.
Entertainment definitely better imo though depends what you're into.
Safety... well I've not been beaten up yet. :p I honestly think it's a bit of a difficult one to answer, Glasgow still has that reputation of being unsafe, especially if you go to certain areas, but it's nowhere near as unsafe as it was, say, 10 years ago. And in Edinburgh there's this bubbling resentment under wraps that you can sometimes feel from people. I don't get that here, it's more obvious if someone is spoiling for a fight and you just avoid them. Junkies are more brass-necked, which is due to the same thing i think. |
