| Comment | I was coming out of Republic Bierr Halle on Gordon Street in the early 2000s. If you know the pub there’s a steep staircase from street level down to the actual entrance.
After we were done when I opened the door from the pub to leave there was water cascading down the stairs. Assumed someone had spilt their drink or something and did a side step. As I got up the stairs there was a guy lying flat on the second top step with the bouncer leaning over him trying to talk to him.
The guy had been stabbed. It wasn’t water running down the stairs, it was his blood.
I helped call an ambulance and speak to the police etc but one thing that got me was that it never made the news at all. Presumably it was a junkie and apparently their lives are not worth reporting.
Often think about that poor guy. Very sad. Very tragic. |
