Comment | Went to Shawlands Academy in the mid 2000s. As a teenager, the area always seemed really nice, but I grew up in the Gorbals and Castlemilk so take that for some perspective.
Loads of cafes, pubs, clubs, different shops, supermarkets and all that within reasonable distance. Queens Park on the doorstep too! Houses seemed really nice, mix of big fuck-off spacious places and wee houses above the shops. Street layout seemed a bit mental to teen me, lots of dead-ends and really tight wee streets that people have parked like cunts on, making it impossible to move a car down.
I know for sure that in that period, there must have been so many people raging about Shawlands Academy weans at lunchtime. Out we came, pouring into all the cafes (especially the Greggs) screaming, shouting and generally being the wee arseholes teenagers are. |
