| Comment | Yep. I pulled a lot of tips when I worked at Waverley Tearooms. Shared out among front of house, the chefs and KPs, I'd normally get about 30 to 40 quid for 2 weekend shifts plus a mid-week shift.
Then the establishment next door (Bar Buddha) started to have till discrepancies. So they made up for the shortfall by hammering everyone's tips, including in the Tearooms where the tills were fine. One weekend I was given more tips than usual, as was my pal who was on both weekend shifts with me. We expected probably about 50 quid but instead I got....
2 fucking quid.
I told them there and then I was leaving, albeit I was a good little boy who worked my 1 week's notice.
