British intelligence is absolutely doing the same thing. So are our friends in Europe, America, Canada, Australia etc. But if Russia or China try and do it, there's uproar.
I'm not saying we're right to do it - we're probably not and they have probably been used for horrible things. But yeah, this is the game countries play. China isn't an outlier here.
