I appreciate that some delivery cyclists are very irresponsible but regardless it is your responsibility as a car driver to be cautious on the road at all times.

The Highway Code was recently updated to explain in detail the hierarchy on the road outlining each drivers burden of responsibility depending on the vehicle type in use. The rules on navigating around cyclists when you are driving a car have also been clarified.

The purpose of the new rules are to protect more vulnerable road users from large two ton metal boxes even in cases when the said vulnerable road user may be considered irresponsible or distracted.

I know this may sound unreasonable but the days of the car being King on the road are over.
