American woman here who moved to Glasgow with two suitcases and have lived here for a year to complete a postgraduate course at Glasgow Uni. Have resided in a couple parts of the city and can give my 2p if that's helpful. Feel free to DM: I am happy to answer any questions you may have. If you are from a major US urban area, Glasgow may well seem nicer, but it is a different story if you are from a small town or rural area. As far as choosing your course, I would personally look into where the better department is, though I know cost is a factor. Congratulations!
