I was a FTB and just thought this was the way. I bid for a house the day it went on the market. The estate agent got calls from 6 other folk but didn't accept their bids. Because of the interest the owner decided to reject my bid and go to a best offer on closing date.
The house I eventually bought I just made a bid and had it accepted.
