It’s Yoker Castle, but it’s just a CSO (combined storm overflow) sewer. The Great Western Sewer runs through it, open. The sewer here is actually higher than the railway line, it’s why the banking on that side is higher all along this point of the rail line.
The overflow pipe runs under the railway and discharges at the Yoker Burn at The Lovat Arms.
It’s a pretty stinking building but a proper work of engineering. |
