Comment | He is a psychologist masquerading as a pop philosopher, whose primary audience comprises young men who feel hard-done-by. He basically dresses up 50s Christian conservative family values in fancy, rational-sounding speech and his academic background. I have nothing to say on his work in psychology, which is his profession, but I am very suspicious of his rise to become a 'public intellectual'.
Some of his ideas about society are just bizarre, e.g. his extended lobster imagery and his weird beliefs about enforced monogamy. |
