I did that move, the fact its cheaper is nice, there is more going on in Glasgow and particularly as I like live music that I dont need to travel through constantly is really great.

The city isn't anywhere near as nice, there are nice bits but lots of shitty industrial estates, abandoned spaces and motorways seperating everything, a lot of things are hard to get to on public transport and a lot of the space is designed for cars which I find grating.

I am not sure if its part of the city or me growing up, but living in Edinburgh it felt like I didnt leave Edinburgh as much whereas Glasgow is very well connected and I have visited far far more of the islands and the highlands than I ever did in Edinburgh.

One of the bigger annoyances is that its hard to avoid glaswegians randomly talking about how superior, friendly and real the city is compared to Edinburgh, its bizarre and ironic and the people are generally comparable except Glasgow definitely has a noticeable increase in the number of loud and occasionally threatening people.
