They stats could easily be interpreted differently though.

With the assumption the average city cyclist travels 18kmh and the average pedestrian walks 5kmh then walking is much safer.

There would be one fatality for every 252’525 hours spent cycling.

Yet only one fatality for every 869’565 hours spent walking.

So for each hour spent travelling there is a 344% greater risk of dying on a bike.
