As people have said, it's only available on prescription and prescriptions are free.

That being said, colchicine is obviously something that's used to treat gout flares (although I much prefer naproxen since it doesn't have the arse shredding side effects associated with colchicine), if you are going to a GP for a prescription, you want to have a word with them about getting your uric acid levels checked and get yourself on Allupurinol ASAP. Prevention is infinately better than treatment, and it's been proven that lifestyle factors alone cannot lower uric acid levels enough to fully prevent gout flares. It sounds a bit worrying knowing you will likely be on meds for the rest of your life, and I put off Allopurinol for a good while because of this, but being able to eat and drink what I want without worrying about a flare has been a massive life improvement!
